GUEST BLOGGER ALERT // Visiting Orange County

Hi there everyone, Happy Friday – it’s Laura again guest blogging!

I’m not sure if you all know, but I am originally from Orange County, Newport Beach to be exact (a whopping 45 minutes south of Los Angeles) but it always feels like a different world down there.

During the summer, I like to visit on the weekends, bike down to the beach and get on the water. I always say it’s like the Hamptons for me now, living and working in LA.

That’s besides the point, but this week I had the pleasure of making the trek to the OC for meetings, which of course is a very different experience but equally enjoyable, especially since I was in the presence of such great company!

I went down to meet with Oakley at their headquarters, which you will see above – definitely didn’t disappoint. I only wish I was able to capture the indoors, it blew me away! Although we’ve worked with Oakley many times, I had never been here. It was great experience, you really get a feel of the brand just walking onto and around their campus.

I also had a fantastic meeting at Quiksilver, and of course loved the vibe there as well. Everyone there was incredibly friendly, people walking in from their “surf breaks” – you just feel an honest excitement for the work they do there and appreciation for the work we do as an agency.

All and all, it was a great visit down and of course, a BIG thank you to the people who made the time to see me and look through all of the work!

Sam Jones TAMMY

Melissa McCarthy is funny and often dark at the same time and this one will hopefully be a big bit at the box office on the always important July 4th weekend and for our clients Warner Bros. Studios.

From IMDB:  ” After losing her job and learning that her husband has been unfaithful, a woman hits the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother ”

With Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates too – how can it not be great?

GUEST BLOGGER ALERT // Portland Travels

Happy Monday Everyone, Laura here!

A few weeks ago, I went on my first EVER solo promotional trip to Portland, Oregon to meet with existing and prospective clients to show our FABULOUS artists’ work. Although showing their works is always a pleasure and so easy because the work practically speaks for itself, I was nervous before getting there – you know, flying solo for the first time!

But the meetings were fantastic, upbeat and a success overall. Not to mention the food and ambiance of Portland as a city itself was so spectacular, it was a great place to start.

I was told before going that I couldn’t go to Portland and not drop into Stumptown for coffee, which of course was in the quirky Ace Hotel I was staying in. A great experience all around, surpassed my expectations for sure.

A big shout out to everyone that took the time to meet with me and look through all the work, but the biggest shout out to Carol for having the faith in me to send me as representation for the artists and Eye Forward – this trip wouldn’t have been possible without your support.

It was such a great experience, I thought I’d share the highlights of my travels….

Spencer Lowell FORTUNE Magazine – Barley Brouahaha

Spencer did this story for Fortune on Joe Casey of Widmer Brothers Brewery in Portland and his gluten free beer called Omission.

Casey realized he could create beer with traditional malts and then eradicate the gluten before bottling, ensuring the familiar flavor survived. And after two years of testing he brought it home to his wife Sara who inspired the creation as she had been diagnosed with celiac disease, an allergic reaction to gluten that can cause dehydration, weight loss, and long-term immune disorders.

Sara was thrilled and impressed as she had missed drinking beer and he had hit a jackpot by making a gluten-free brew that tasted not only like beer but like really high-quality craft beer and he called it Omission.

Perry Ogden for JANE Magazine on a Throwback Thursday…..

A Le Mans Message from Audi to Porsche…..

I hope that you had the chance to watch some of the 24 Hour Le Mans race last weekend. It is one of the most famous car races in history and for the first time in sixteen years after a long history of winning the race Porsche returned to compete against Audi ( the most recent multi time winner ) as well as Ferrari, Toyota and Corvette. The course is over 8 miles long and the race is as the name implies twenty four hours long.

Audi sent this message to Porsche via a great new commercial seen during the broadcast and also on line on many of the car blogs and sites before the race.

I love it! Whoever thought of this is brilliant!

The cars do not look much like the ones in Lee Katzin’s famous 1971 film ” Le Mans ” starring Steve McQueen but they are still very sexy and incredibly fast with hybrid technology and amazing on board cameras that made the coverage all the more thrilling to watch. At one point it was raining on one side of the track and sunny on the other as the track is over such a large area.

To read more about the race from the Porsche website and see a video they have just released about the return to Le Mans ( as well as a message to Audi ) go here
