Sam Jones with William H. Macy on Off Camera #45

One of my favorite actors ever this interview promises to be a great one.

In this conversation, Macy tells the truth about acting technique, the perks and pitfalls of series TV, the process of putting together a feature-length indie, and what he’s learned from his experience on both sides of the camera. We talk about everything, including how to fire George Clooney so he stays fired. Well, almost everything… Sorry, Bill.

Frank Ockenfels 3 / CONCUSSION for Sony Pictures

Concussion is a new sports thriller drama film starring Will Smith portraying Bennet Omalu, the forensic pathologist who fought against efforts by National Football League to suppress his research on the brain damage suffered by professional football players. The film was directed and written by Peter Landesman.

This film looks amazing!

Spencer Lowell – FRIEZE – A Preview of the campaign…..

Peace for Paris – Pray for Paris and Pray for Peace….

We like the who world are in shock and disbelief a the events that happened in Paris last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their friends and families and loved ones – and with the people of Paris and of France.

With the advent of Social Media we see how fast symbols or images that spread and become the most used image – such as the one above by a 32-year-old French designer and illustrator Jean Jullien, who tells Wired that he started on the sketch within about a minute of hearing news of the attacks.

“It was done on my lap, on a very loose sketchbook, with a brush and ink,” he says. “I didn’t do any sketches. It was a reaction. The first thing that came to me was the idea of peace, that we needed peace. I was trying to look for a symbol of Paris, and obviously the Eiffel Tower was the first thing that sprang to my mind. I just connected both of them. You know, there wasn’t much work process behind that. It was more an instinctive, human reaction than an illustrator’s reaction.”

Perry Ogden Had a Magazine called LIPSTICK

Many moons ago Perry was a student at Eton College which is a very famous independent boys boarding school located in Eton, Berkshire, England which was founded in 1440 by King Henry VI as “The King’s College of Our Lady of Eton besides Wyndsor ” and educates boys aged 13 to 18 years.

Whilst at school Perry and some friends decided to make a magazine – that is the first cover shown above – please note with a woman on the cover for a boys school! And no one really remembers exactly how they did it but the magazine is legendary in many circles and definitely propelled Perry into the publishing and photography world at record speed.

Perry was recently interviewed by Radio Wolfgang about the magazine and the stories of going to NYC – his first trip there ever – to photograph Andy Warhol and Diana Vreeland as well as his Mother and Aunt’s influences make this interview well worth a listen – check it out here

Spencer Lowell for WIRED above the streets again….

Spencer loves to see the world from above – the birds eye view of the world and that vision worked very well for this story from WIRED about the use of LED lights in cities for their Design Issue. Did you know that Los Angeles is retrofitting 4,500 miles of orange-yellow sodium-vapor streetlights with a moonlight-hued matrix of light-emitting diodes? From reading this story I learned that our streets will look brighter and they’ll also be more connected!
