Spencer Lowell for Popular Science // Dubai’s Desalination Plant

Last month, Pop Sci Magazine published a new story about the Jebel Ali desalination plant in Dubai, using some of Spencer’s iconic photos of the massive plant that were taken in the past.

This plant is the driving source of Dubai’s growing metropolis, as it turns about 2.8 BILLION gallons of water from the Persian Gulf into clean drinking water every day.

Spencer Lowell’s New Work on the Cover of LA Magazine!

The latest issue of Los Angeles Magazine, on stands now, features an awesome story about what is up and coming at Silicon Beach, the west side’s version of Silicon Valley.

Spencer got to shoot some of the hottest new tech innovations and startups in action, such as everything virtual reality, the original Snapchat headquarters in Venice, and Santa Monica’s DogVacay app.

Since Spencer shot this story for Wired UK, Hyperloop One has made great strides toward the future of transportation and technology, including taking steps to connect Dubai to the greater United Arab Emirates. The way this mode of transportation seeks to cut time and costs in travel is truly visionary, especially in places like the UAE.

Spencer Lowell shoots ULA Rockets for Fortune Magazine!

Spencer had a great time traveling to the United Launch Alliance in Alabama to photograph these remarkable rockets in all different stages of production! If you aren’t familiar with ULA, it is a company that builds rockets that propel all kinds of satellites into orbit – and has, since 2006, sent 111 of them into space without a single accident or mishap.
