Gearing Up for the Week with Spencer Lowell // THE FERRARI CHALLENGE

Last April, Spencer got to go on location in Sonoma to shoot the annual Ferrari Challenge for American Express Publishing and we cannot get enough of these photos!

The Ferrari Challenge is the longest running single-make series featured in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. For the past 11 years, the North American event has taken place in Sonoma, where Ferrari fans can watch exciting races, buy official Ferrari merchandise, and even vote for their favorite vintage Ferrari!

Not only did Spencer get to watch it all take place, but he even got to get in and drive one! Talk about work perks!

Sam Jones Shoots George Clooney for Volkswagen, China

The new Volkswagen Phideon recently launched in China and Sam helped create a great campaign!

This photo, along with others, was featured in the promotion of the sedan, which was made for China and China alone with no plan to distribute to other countries.

There is a lot of hype surrounding this unique car and who better to help sell it than Sam Jones and George Clooney??

Patrik Giardino shoots Rickie Fowler for The Red Bulletin

Rick Yutaka Fowler is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour.

Patrik shot him for the June cover of Red Bulletin.

He will be playing in The Open Championship at Royal Troon in the UK July 14-17th.

Since 1860, The Open has been played over some of the world’s most cherished links courses and has produced a remarkable legacy of great champions. It is the oldest and most international championship in professional golf and the Claret Jug – first presented in 1873 – is one of the most iconic trophies in all of sport.

Spancer Lowell shoots the new Peterson Museum in LA for Departures Magazine

Well we all know that I love cars and the new Peterson Museum is one of my favorite LA destinations. People have mixed feelings about the building redesign but I went to a lecture there the other night on cars and architecture in LA given by one of the Art Center automotive instructors and he said the exterior is like the bundles of miles of metal they use to make cars – just all stretched out – I liked that!

Spencer had amazing access for this story and the pictures are fantastic!

Patrik Giardino has some fun with a Ferrari!

Dewey Nicks shoots Melissa Benoist AKA Supergirl or as for Vanity Fair calls her ” The Annie Hall of Superheroes “

Go Fast with a Porsche 917!

People who know me know that I love cars and Porsches specifically. I was unable to attend the Porsche Rennsport Reunion event last weekend in Monterey at the famed Laguan Seca track but I was able to enjoy a lot of amazing coverage of the everything Porsche weekend on line. One of my favorite video pieces was this one – due to the car and the filming and whole message about respect for the historical racing cars and how that teaches the contemporary drivers something that they might not learn in our highly computerized cars of today.

Enjoy the ride….there are two but the one on the track with Patrick Long in the 917 makes me crazy!

Dewey Nicks and the Conde Nast Traveler September Cover story

Is on the amazing and on the famed Tour Auto Optic 2000 – a road race with 200 mid-century automobile classics that begins in Paris at the Grand Palais and ends in Biarritz, France five days later.

This story which was part of The Style Design Issue was produced by Matt Hranek, and was a dream assignment for both Matt and Dewey.

Wonderful event and images! Great story by Michael Hainey – the title on the on line version of the piece says it all: Cars, Speed, Ego!
