Chantal Anderson is a photographer and director. Telling stories with both stills and motion, Anderson’s work is intimate, human and sculptural. Her work and subjects are diverse— ranging from editorial portraiture to travel documentary projects and lifestyle commissions. Her projects have taken her to Eastern Europe, Eritrea, and Iceland where she’s collaborated with Yves Saint Laurent, i-D, Vogue, and Dazed among others.
Her film “Migratory,” won best cinematography at the Milano Fashion Film Festival in 2016. In 2017, her film “Lilies” was funded by the festival and shown as part of their “Through my Eyes” series in collaboration with Vogue Italia. This year, her short documentary on photographer David LaChapelle, commissioned by Nowness, will be an official selection of the International Festival of Films on Art in Montréal.
She has been shortlisted for Art Director Club’s Young Guns Award and is the recipient of PDN’s 2019 30 Photographer’s to watch.
